The Meux Home Museum stands today as one of the last remaining estates from Fresno’s Gilded Age, a period that shaped the foundation of our city between 1870 and 1900. Thanks to the dedication of our Board Members, Volunteers, and the generosity of those who believe in preserving history, the museum remains a place where the past comes to life. With hundreds of visitors walking through our doors each year, it is our mission to protect the legacy of the Meux family by caring for this extraordinary property and sharing its story with future generations. Donations are essential to this work, and your support makes a lasting impact.
Give Today to Safeguard Tomorrow’s History
Monetary Donations
Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a vital role in safeguarding the Meux Home Museum. Financial gifts allow us to preserve the house, maintain our collection, and provide meaningful educational experiences for the community. We gratefully accept donations through various means, including direct monetary gifts, grants, sponsorship, corporate matching, stock transfers, and planned giving.
In the coming months, we are excited to introduce The Friends of the Meux Giving Circle, a new donor program designed to invite our supporters to contribute on a monthly or annual basis. This program will feature tiered levels of giving, with exclusive benefits and recognition for those who choose to join. Becoming part of this program will not only sustain the future of the museum but also deepen your connection to this beloved historic treasure.

Tangible Donations
As we continue to share the history of Fresno’s Gilded Age, we are always seeking to grow and enrich our collection. We warmly welcome tangible donations of artifacts, furniture, decorative arts, textiles, and personal items that reflect daily life during Fresno’s Gilded Age and before (1800 to 1929). These items are carefully preserved and displayed on a rotating basis, allowing visitors to experience the beauty and craftsmanship of the past while ensuring the collection remains dynamic for years to come.
In addition to historical artifacts, we also accept gently used items that fall outside of our Gilded Age collection criteria. These thoughtful contributions support the museum through our seasonal Bygone Bazaar, where donated goods are sold to raise funds for the ongoing care and operation of the Meux Home. Through these generous gifts, our community helps us continue sharing Fresno’s past in creative and sustainable ways.
If you have a specific interest in sponsoring a particular room, restoring a unique item, or contributing toward a designated project within the home, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our Contact Page to send us a message. Our team will be happy to discuss your ideas and explore how your donation can best support the future of the Meux Home Museum.
Your generosity ensures that the story of the Meux Home Museum and Fresno’s Gilded Age heritage remains alive for generations to come. Thank you for being a part of preserving our history.
