Volunteer With Us!

Step into the world of Gilded Age Fresno and become part of something truly special! The Meux Home Museum is looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our volunteer team. As the only museum in Fresno focused entirely on preserving and showcasing the rich history of this transformative period, we rely on the support of our incredible volunteers to keep our mission alive.

Located in an extraordinary home built in 1888, the Meux Home Museum offers a captivating glimpse into the lifestyle, culture, and architectural grandeur of Gilded Age Fresno. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help to continue our work of preserving this historic treasure for future generations.

Why volunteer with us?

  • Make a meaningful impact: As a 100% volunteer-run museum, every hour you contribute directly supports our mission to preserve Gilded Age history. Your involvement helps keep the story of Fresno’s past alive for visitors of all ages.

  • Join a dedicated community: Our volunteers are more than just a team, they are a family, united by a shared love for history and a commitment to preserving our heritage. You’ll work alongside passionate, knowledgeable individuals who share your enthusiasm for the Gilded Age and its lasting impact on our city.

  • Exclusive perks: Volunteers enjoy special admission benefits, so you can bring your family and friends to experience the beauty and history of the Meux Home Museum. Plus, you’ll be invited to exclusive volunteer-only events and even field trips to other historic sites in the area.

What You’ll Gain as a Volunteer:

  • Experience history in a hands-on way: Whether you’re giving tours, assisting with events, or participating in research, you’ll have the chance to dive deep into Fresno’s past and make it come alive for others.

  • Skills and personal growth: Volunteering is a great way to develop new skills in public speaking, event coordination, and more. Plus, you’ll gain valuable experience that can enhance your resume or open doors to new opportunities.

  • A lasting legacy: Every hour you contribute helps ensure that The Meux Home Museum remains a vibrant, thriving space for education and enjoyment. By volunteering, you become part of a team dedicated to preserving Fresno’s unique history and culture.

What we’re looking for:

We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, dependable, and eager to contribute to the preservation of our Gilded Age history.

Volunteers are asked to:

  • Commit to 2-3 days of volunteering per month, covering tours and opening/closing duties, as well as attending a monthly docent meeting.
  • Attend scheduled ongoing training and volunteer meetings throughout the year.

Are you ready to join us?

The Meux Home Museum is 100% volunteer-driven, and every one of our team members is integral to our success. We are a dedicated group, and we welcome anyone who shares our passion for history and preservation to join us.
