Step through our front door, where light dances through stained glass and time bends softly at the threshold, and you’ll find that something new has arrived.
We are pleased to welcome you not only to the Meux Home Museum, but also to our newly redesigned website. With it comes Voices from the Veranda, the museum’s first official blog and a new way to share the life and legacy of this historic home.
For more than a century, the Meux Home has stood watch over the heart of Fresno. It has quietly witnessed generations of change, holding onto stories others might have forgotten. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and the continued support of our community, this house now enters a new era with its story carried forward into the digital world.
The new website is designed to be more than just a resource. It is meant to be a reflection of the house itself—warm, inviting, and full of character. Whether you are planning your first visit or returning after many years, we hope you find it easy to explore, informative to read, and filled with the spirit of the home we care for.
And yet, the site is only part of what we’re sharing.
Voices from the Veranda will serve as the living journal of the Meux Home Museum. Here, we will offer insights into life during the Victorian era, behind-the-scenes looks at restoration efforts, reflections from our docents and staff, and historical highlights drawn from the rooms and records of the house itself. You might even find a whispered tale or two, passed along by those who believe the past is never truly silent.
This space will grow with us. It will reflect not only the artifacts and architecture we preserve, but also the heart of the community that makes that preservation possible. We look forward to sharing stories, honoring local history, and inviting you to see the Meux Home through a more personal lens.
We are grateful to have you with us at the beginning of this new chapter. There is so much more to discover, and this is only the first page.
