The Meux Home Museum is closed for the month of January as we take time for annual maintenance, deep cleaning, and exhibit resets. This period allows us to care for the historic home and its collections in ways that are difficult to accomplish while the museum is open to the public.
As a volunteer run historic house museum with no paid staff, this seasonal pause is an important part of our stewardship. Behind the scenes, volunteers are carefully cleaning gallery spaces, tending to artifacts, refreshing exhibits, and preparing the home for the year ahead. Preservation work continues even when the doors are closed.
These quieter winter weeks give us the opportunity to focus on the long term care of the Meux Home, ensuring that it remains a place of learning, connection, and history for future generations.
The Meux Home Museum will reopen the first weekend of February, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
